NovelCult is a free web novel platform where readers binge fantasy, cultivation, and romance, and independent authors publish with no contracts and keep their rights. It is operated by NovelPedia Private Limited and currently hosts 400+ novels.
What NovelCult Does for Readers
Free chapters
Most of every novel is free to read. If an author runs Early Access, those advance chapters become free once the author-selected Early Access window ends.
Optional Early Access
Readers who want to read ahead can subscribe to an author's Early Access tier. It supports the author directly and is never required to finish a story.
Honest reviews and ratings
Each reader gets one review and rating per novel, and authors cannot delete them. That keeps ratings useful when you are deciding what to read next.
A library that keeps up with you
Follow novels, build collections, and get notified when new chapters drop, so a long series never falls off your radar.
What NovelCult Does for Authors
Publish with no contract
Create an account and publish. Authors keep ownership of their work: NovelCult asks only for a non-exclusive hosting licence, so you keep 100% of your copyright and can publish the same novel anywhere else. When eligible, you may offer optional paid early access.
One-click import
Verified authors can import an existing novel instead of re-uploading it chapter by chapter, including from Tapas and Patreon. See how migration works.
Monetisation on your terms
Novels over 40,000 words are eligible for Early Access once verification is complete. You set the price and the number of advance chapters. Payouts run through Stripe with a 10% platform fee.
Real stats
Author dashboards show views, unique readers, followers, views per chapter, and ratings, all taken from real reading activity on the platform.
What Makes NovelCult Different
Chapters become free, not locked behind coins
Many web novel apps charge coins for each chapter. On NovelCult, paid access only covers advance chapters, and every chapter becomes free when its Early Access window ends.
No exclusive contracts
Some platforms ask authors to sign exclusivity or rights deals. NovelCult does not offer contracts and never asks for ownership or distribution rights.
Authors keep 90% of Early Access revenue
The standard platform fee is 10% (5% for select authors), plus Stripe's processing fees. There is no minimum payout.
No AI-generated stories
Fully AI-generated content is not allowed. Every chapter has a "Report AI" button, and confirmed AI content is removed.
Built by readers, run by a real company
NovelCult was started by people who grew up reading web novels. It is operated by a registered company with a published address, so you know who is behind the site.
The Team Behind NovelCult
How NovelCult Started
NovelCult was first dreamt of by its founder Mehul Gupta, known in the community as Karmic, on May 19, 2025. Before that, Karmic ran multiple novel communities on Discord, where he helped novel publishers, readers, and artists alike. At the age of 19, Karmic grew tired of being overcharged by webnovel sites and the unfair contracts they put out, so he sought like-minded people to start working on a new, better novel platform. Karmic quickly realised that with just a bit more effort, sites could do more for their readers and authors than prioritise profits… and they don't even harm profits that much. That means making it easy to migrate novels, giving authors control of monetisation, and more. Along the way Karmic dropped out of college and left home. He persevered to build a great place for novel readers and writers to engage.
Who We Are
We started NovelCult because we were tired of the same problem: great stories being overlooked, authors being underpaid, and readers constantly hitting "unlock to read more." We wanted better discovery for great stories and a fairer platform for the people who create and read them. We were readers who got through the day on webnovels. We knew what readers wanted. We knew what authors deserved. So we built it.
Who Works for NovelCult
Mostly students and people working part-time around their day jobs. We are outcasts willing to sacrifice something for a glimpse of our dream, whether that is social life, work-life balance, or studies. Every person on the NovelCult team was recruited on online forums, Reddit, or Discord. We burn with this problem and want nothing but a great novel platform that we will want to read on.

How NovelCult Works
For readers
Browse on Explore, read free chapters without an account, and sign up to follow novels, build collections, review, and get chapter notifications. Early Access is optional and billed through Stripe; see the subscription guide.
For authors
Sign up and publish, or import an existing novel after ownership verification. Once a novel passes 40,000 words and verification is complete (age verification, plus parental consent for minors), you can connect Stripe and turn on Early Access. The monetisation guide covers each step.

Trust and Safety
How We Verify Ownership
To prevent misuse of identity, NovelCult verifies that new authors own the works they bring to the platform before unlocking one-click imports. In-app reporting and moderation review help keep works posted on NovelCult plagiarism-free.
How We Govern Content
NovelCult supports a wide range of creative work while using tags and content ratings to help keep adult material away from readers under 18. Readers can report explicit content published under an unsuitable rating, and our moderation team can ask the author to edit the content or correct its tags and rating. DMCA and copyright compliance are priorities.
Authors may use AI-generated book covers only if this is disclosed in the book's metadata; AI-generated covers cannot be falsely marketed as hand-drawn or human-made.
Review and Rating Integrity
A reader can leave one review and rating per novel, helping prevent spam. Authors cannot delete ratings, and readers can report malicious review-bombing for moderation.
Correction and Appeal Process
When content or conduct violates NovelCult's guidelines, authors may receive a correction window and can appeal the moderation decision through our support process.
