What is NovelCult?
NovelCult is a community-driven platform for discovering, reading, publishing, and supporting web novels. It is built for readers who enjoy serialized fiction and authors who want ownership, audience tools, and a direct relationship with their community.
Is NovelCult free to use?
Browsing and public chapters are free. Some features require a free account, including saving progress, building a library, following, commenting, and other personalized actions.
Authors may offer optional paid early access to a moving window of advance chapters for an individual novel. Those chapters become free as they move outside the advance window.
How is NovelCult different from other platforms?
NovelCult is designed around author ownership, discoverability, community feedback, and free public reading with optional per-novel early-access support. Authors keep ownership of their work, subject to the platform permissions described in the Terms of Use.
Do I need an account to read?
No. You can open and read public chapters without an account. Create a free account if you want to track progress, save novels, follow authors, rate, review, comment, or subscribe to eligible early-access tiers.
Is there a mobile app?
NovelCult currently focuses on the web experience. You can use the website on supported mobile and desktop browsers. Do not rely on unofficial apps that ask for your NovelCult credentials.
Can I comment, rate, or review novels?
Supported novels and chapters may allow comments, ratings, reviews, and discussions. Some actions require a signed-in account and are subject to moderation, anti-abuse rules, and product availability.
What content rules apply?
Authors and readers must follow the Content Policy, Terms of Use, copyright rules, community standards, and applicable law. Important areas include originality, permissions, accurate mature-content labels, hate speech, exploitation, spam, phishing, and prohibited illegal content.
What languages are supported?
The platform currently focuses on English-language content and interfaces. Additional language support may vary or be introduced over time. Authors should label a novel's language accurately.
How can I give feedback or report a problem?
Use for support, feedback, privacy, copyright, safety, author, or import questions. You can also join the official NovelCult Discord for community discussion.
Include what you were doing, what you expected, what happened, the affected page, and non-sensitive screenshots. Never send a password or authentication token.
How do I publish a novel?
Sign in to the NovelCult Author Dashboard, create or migrate a novel, complete its metadata, and publish a chapter. The publishing and formatting guide explains the full flow.
Do authors keep the rights to their work?
Yes. Authors retain ownership of their content. By publishing, they grant NovelCult the permissions described in the Terms of Use so the platform can host, display, operate, index, and promote the work. Authors must own the content or have permission to publish it.
Can I publish a novel I didn't write?
No. NovelCult is a platform for authors publishing their own novels: original stories you wrote, translations you have permission to publish, or fan fiction that follows the permission rules in the Content Policy. Uploading someone else's writing without authorization, mass-reposting scraped content, or using NovelCult to distribute pirated material is not allowed and may result in content removal or account termination under the DMCA and Repeat Infringer Policy.
Can authors earn money?
Eligible authors can offer optional per-novel subscriptions that give readers paid early access to advance chapters. Stripe handles the current payment, billing, onboarding, and payout flows. Read the author monetization guide for eligibility and tier rules.
Authors may also use permitted external creator links where supported and where they comply with platform policy.
How do novels get discovered or featured?
Discovery can include genre and tag browsing, recently updated stories, new releases, completed novels, ratings, recommendations, community activity, and other editorial or product signals.
Accurate metadata, a clear description, an appropriate cover, consistent publication, reader trust, and genuine engagement can help readers understand a story. NovelCult does not guarantee placement or ranking.
What if someone uploads my work without permission?
NovelCult takes copyright reports seriously. Rights holders can use the process described on DMCA and Copyright and provide the information needed to identify the original work, the allegedly infringing material, and their authority to act.
Do not file a false report or publish sensitive personal information in a public comment.
How can I support authors and the platform?
You can follow authors, save and review novels, share legitimate links, participate respectfully in discussions, and subscribe to an eligible novel's optional early-access tier.
External support links, merchandise, publishing services, audiobooks, advertising, or other features may vary by author and product availability. Check the current page before relying on a feature.
Will NovelCult show ads?
NovelCult may use advertising to support the platform. Advertising must follow the site's policy and should not misrepresent itself as story content or interfere with core reading controls.
Are payments secure?
NovelCult currently uses Stripe-hosted payment and billing surfaces for reader subscriptions and author onboarding. NovelCult does not store a reader's full card details.
Readers should verify that they are on an official NovelCult or Stripe page and should never send a full card number, card security code, password, authentication token, or Stripe secret to support.
How does moderation work?
Users can report content or behavior through available product controls or official support channels. NovelCult may review originality, copyright, mature-content labels, metadata, cover art, community behavior, fraud, and compliance with the Terms and Content Policy.
Possible outcomes include approval, requested changes, restrictions, content removal, account suspension, or an appeal process where available.
What data does NovelCult collect?
NovelCult collects and processes information needed to operate accounts, reading features, security, payments, analytics, moderation, and support as described in the Privacy Policy.
Payment providers process sensitive payment information under their own terms. NovelCult does not sell personal data as described in the current Privacy Policy.
Where can I read about subscriptions, refunds, and cancellations?

The refund and dispute policy explains refund requests, duplicate charges, missing access, chargebacks, and payment safety. Canceling a subscription stops a future renewal according to the displayed billing state; it does not automatically refund a completed charge.
