NovelCult is a shared space for readers and authors. A strong community depends on people being able to discuss stories without harassment, spam, threats, or personal attacks.
Treat people with respect
Do not use these:
- Harassment
- Threats
- Hate speech
- Personal insults
- Discrimination
- Targeted bullying
- Repeated unwanted contact
Disagreement is allowed. Abuse is not.
Keep criticism about the work
Discuss the story, not the author's identity, appearance, background, or personal life.
Respect spoilers
Use spoiler warnings when discussing:
- Major plot twists
- Character deaths
- Endings
- Hidden identities
- Important relationship developments
Do not post major spoilers in titles or preview text.
Do not pressure authors
Readers should not demand:
- Immediate updates
- Specific plot decisions
- Private information
- Replies to every comment
- Free paid access
- Personal contact outside the platform
Do not spam
Avoid the spamming:
- Repeating the same comment
- Posting unrelated promotions
- Advertising in story comments
- Mass-following for attention
- Filling discussions with copied messages
Respect copyright
Do not:
- Copy novels
- Re-upload chapters
- Share paid content publicly
- Claim another person's work as your own
- Distribute screenshots or files without permission
Keep account and payment activity honest
Readers must not:
- Create fake accounts to manipulate engagement
- Purchase content to generate fraudulent earnings
- Abuse refunds
- File dishonest chargebacks
- Use stolen payment methods
- Manipulate reviews or rankings
Report problems responsibly
Report the things which are against the rule if possible:
- Harassment
- Threats
- Copyright violations
- Fraud
- Illegal content
- Payment abuse
- Serious safety concerns
Reports should include enough information for the team to investigate. Do not use reports to punish an author simply because you dislike a plot choice.
Protect your privacy
Readers should avoid posting:
- Phone numbers
- Addresses
- Private emails
- Payment details
- Passwords
- Personal documents
Understand moderation
NovelCult may remove content or restrict accounts that violate its rules. Serious or repeated violations may result in suspension or permanent termination.
A good reading community gives people room to enjoy different stories while maintaining basic standards of respect and safety. Read, comment, and participate on NovelCult while helping make the community welcoming for everyone.
