Star Chronicles: Embers Of The Calamity

Let Power Be Your Truth. Your Light. And Your Chains. That was the first law granted to the Nyxvalis clan. For thirty-eight generations it held. Through fire and blood, through empire and ruin, through centuries of war waged in the name of a bloodline that had long since ceased to be merely human. It held — and in holding, built a monolith so absolute that the world stopped asking whether it could fall. Then came the 39th Flame. Seven hundred and thirty-one entered the Chambers of Night. Forty-seven crawled back out. Not an army. Not a dynasty. An ember — dim, diminished, and already encircled by enemies who had spent years sharpening their finest wolves in anticipation of its arrival. A heresy in numbers alone. A silent warning to those still bold enough to hear it: If a monolith can tremble — so too can it fall. As the world prepares to record the embers in its annals, so must its instruments play their parts. Those duty-bound to hold the monolith in place. Those eager to test the might of a millennium of power. And the forty-seven — carrying a smiling ember within. A dark gothic world of political deceit and ancient bloodlines. Empires built on inherited violence. Power forged in law and broken in shadow. And beneath it all — the slow, certain rot of institutions that have never once been held accountable. This is the world of The Star Chronicles. A story about survival without innocence. Legacy worn like chains. And the particular kind of power that doesn't free you — it simply decides how you burn. Starting From Cannon Fodder To Sweeping The Stars

"Dignity is only on the edge of the psychic light blade, and truth is only within the range of the super-heavy purification beam." The chaotic situation made Amber, who traveled into the space hegemony game "Starry Sky", completely understand this sentence... Humanity, who accidentally acquired the jump technology, quickly spread across the galaxy like a plague. After hundreds of years of all mankind working together, division came unsurprisingly. Of course, there are also 'friendly' alien civilizations and unknown enemies that are ready to move at the edge of the galaxy. But as a wanted criminal by both the Federation and the Empire, the first thing Amber needs to do is... survive. Elements of this book: interstellar warfare, fleet warfare, mecha-destroying battleships, individual soldiers joining gangs, spiritual awakening, alien cat girls, alien elves...

Ten Thousand Fleets

Arc Sandhurst will become a mech pilot, even if it kills him. After his sister's ship is attacked by the Pirate Queen of Nepenthe with all hands lost, Arc enters the Imperial Mech Academy on the deathworld Vidako in order to get revenge. The academy is the only place that the son of a silk-worker can get the enhancements that are required to pilot a mech - but first, Arc will have to survive disagreeable roommates, hazing from upperclassmen, the friendship of an imperial princess, and the steaming jungles of Vidako. Regardless of what Arc wants, the Imperium Stellarum will need every good pilot it can get - because empires are built on a foundation of blood, and the sins of the first emperors are about to come due. Lost fleets lurk on the edge of known space; the ruins of ancient races are spread across long-dead worlds; and enemies thought defeated gather their strength once again. War is coming to the Imperium. What to Expect: An intelligent but imperfect MC who progresses in capability and rank over the course of the series. Think the story arc of a Richard Sharpe, Horatio Hornblower, or Honor Harrington. MC will begin as a 4th class cadet and climb the ranks, gaining more autonomy and political power as the years pass. If you want to watch someone climb from cadet to admiral, this is the story for you. Progression elements include genetic modifications, cybernetic implants, humans paired with AI partners, and, of course, upgrading and customizing mechs through battlefield salvage and cutting edge tech. The mech bits are where you'll find the crunch - expect lots of models, variants, and weapon loadouts. Multiple POVs will offer a view of what supporting characters and antagonists are up to, but the focus (and majority of the chapters) will always remain on Arc. The first volume is roughly 80% MC, 20% other POVs, with most of those being the deuteragonist. Power Couple: All characters are over the age of 18, and begin in a military academy environment designed to produce officers. It is my intent to build a relationship into the power couple trope, but expect political foolery and arranged marriage complications along the way, and keep in mind that the characters have to navigate the rules of serving in the Imperial Fleet. HFY: Humanity, and the Imperium Stellarum, are at their core a force for good in the universe. They are flawed, but trying to do the right thing and are in many ways exceptional / aspirational. Four alien species have joined the Imperium because they want to be part of what humanity is building, and see its potential. Slow Burn with character development, politics, conspiracies, and secrets which lead to brutal action. I intend to do at least a volume for each of the four years at the academy, and then a volume each per rank. If things follow the plan I've sketched out, expect 13+ volumes. Inspirations include Battletech, Gundam, Dune, Babylon 5, and Twilight Imperium, among others. Content Warnings: Graphic Violence - This story will feature science fiction battles with mechs as a primary element. Expect people, animals, and places to be lit on fire with enormous flamethrowers, cut in half with plasma swords, crushed under enormous metal feet, and otherwise dismembered. Profanity - The characters in this story are actively serving combat personnel. They will swear. Sensitive Content - Soldiers get PTSD. Alcohol and drugs exist in the universe. Some of those in power abuse their position to traffic or take advantage of those without power. Bad guys do bad guy things. Update Schedule: Five chapters a week, M-F. Any vacations will be announced in advance. Cover by Sarah Murphy. Mech Art by Victor Yañez. There is no use of AI, in any way, in this work. I use em-dashes because I like them, particularly when trying to create dialogue that starts and stops in the way people actually talk. This story is posted on Royal Road, Novelpedia, and my Patreon. If you find it anywhere else, it's been stolen.

The Advent of the Soul Tree

What if you died a nobody and woke up as a tree? Dendron died a nobody. He quit jobs, avoided conflict, and spent his days doing the bare minimum. When a truck ends his unremarkable existence, he expects nothing at all. Instead, he wakes up as a tree: rooted, immobile, and monumentally alone. In a forest teeming with monsters, cultivators, and beast tribes, Dendron discovers he's been given a second chance, and a LitRPG system to go with it. He can absorb soul cores, grow spiritual fruit, and even parasitize other creatures to build a network of avatars. Soon, he builds a network of wolves, apes, and allies who see him as a mysterious merchant, a powerful tree, or even a god. But being surrounded isn't the same as being understood. He is a reincarnator in a world that doesn't know his past. A tree in a forest of beasts. A creature in a world that fears anything it can't name. And something put him here on purpose. Whatever put him here has plans for him, and they may be far more terrifying than being a tree. "A truck hit me five minutes ago, and now I'm a fucking tree?" A LitRPG cultivation fantasy about growth, loneliness, and the quiet horror of becoming something you never planned to be. If you enjoy slow-burn mysteries, hidden organizations, ancient beings, layered worldbuilding, and gradually uncovering the true nature of a world, you may find something to enjoy here. The Chemistry of Healing

Olivia Hartwell is a scientist, not a hero. After a mysterious catastrophe tears her from modern England and strands her in the kingdom of Eldenoor, Olivia finds herself trapped in a world of magic, prophecy, and looming civil war. The first problem is survival. The second is finding a way home. Neither should involve treating wounded soldiers, arguing with healers, or questioning centuries of accepted medical knowledge. Yet as Olivia searches for answers, she discovers that healing magic can close wounds and mend broken bones while people still die from infection, disease, and poor care. For a scientist trained to look for causes rather than symptoms, the inconsistencies are impossible to ignore. Travelling with a company raising support for a prince seeking to reclaim his stolen kingdom, Olivia becomes entangled in a conflict she never wanted. Along the way she finds friendship, purpose, and reasons to care about a world she never intended to stay in. But some wounds leave scars no magic can erase. ________________________________________ A character-driven portal fantasy featuring medicine, magic, political intrigue, slow-burn romance, and the collision of scientific thinking with a world shaped by magic.
