THE UNHAPPENED: The City Beneath Almost
In the city of Bellwether, things that almost happened never truly disappear. Unsent letters, forgotten possibilities, and lives that were never lived gather in a hidden world beneath the streets. Seventeen-year-old Nilo Venn has spent his life repairing broken objects, never realizing that some of them contain fragments of unrealized futures. Everything changes when a mysterious girl carrying a yellow umbrella arrives at his shop with a terrifying message: Nilo will die tomorrow. As impossible events begin rewriting the city's history, Nilo searches for his missing mother and discovers a secret buried inside his own past. But the deeper he ventures into the world beneath Bellwether, the more he questions whether the people he loves ever existed at all. Someone is collecting abandoned possibilities to create a world where nothing unexpected can happen again. And Nilo may be the only person capable of stopping them. To save tomorrow, he must first discover what happened to yesterday.
